Quick guide: how to avoid duplicate-detection blocks

Platforms like Vinted, Wallapop and eBay compute a hash of every image and block duplicates. Kiacos.fotos applies tiny invisible changes that alter the hash without altering what you see.

Frequently asked questions

Do my photos get uploaded to any server?

No. Processing happens entirely in your browser via the HTML5 Canvas API. Kiacos.fotos has no backend that receives images and no telemetry: not a single byte leaves your device, whether you're editing, converting formats, or applying the duplicate-buster.

Why do I need to modify photos before re-uploading them to Vinted, Wallapop or eBay?

Those platforms compute a digital fingerprint (hash) of every image and compare it with the ones they already have indexed. If you re-publish the same photo, they flag it as a duplicate, hide your listing, or restrict the account. Kiacos.fotos applies a 0.5–1% crop, a ±0.5° rotation, minimal brightness tweaks, and strips EXIF metadata: changes invisible to the eye, but enough to alter the hash.

What is the ICO format for and why does it include several resolutions?

An ICO file is a container that stores several resolutions of the same image inside a single file. Windows uses it for application icons, and browsers use it for favicons. If you only need a tab icon, 16·32·48 pixels is enough. For a Windows installer or a desktop shortcut, 256 pixels is added. Kiacos.fotos lets you pick the preset that matches your target.

Does it preserve the original quality of my photos?

Yes. JPEG re-encoding uses 0.95 quality, practically indistinguishable from the original by eye. For WebP you can pick a quality between 0.60 and 1.0. If you convert to PNG, the result is lossless. As a safety measure, Kiacos.fotos limits very large images (over 24 megapixels) to a safe scale to avoid saturating browser memory on mobile.
